The State of Arizona is home to Grand Canyon National Park, the largest number of Native American speakers, including Navajo and Apache, Gammage Memorial Auditorium, designed by the inimitable architect Frank Lloyd Wright, Sedona “Red Rock” country, the Musical Instrument Museum (MIM), the largest museum in the world of its type, and the state capital Phoenix – the Golden Jewel of the Sonoran Desert. America’s fifth-largest city has such unique character – nowhere else will you find Cowboy and Indian culture, ranchers and major corporations, and red-rock buttes and cacti, living side by side.
Visiting music ensembles will experience true Southwest culture. Take a stroll through the Desert Botanical Garden to gaze at awe-inspiring desert vegetation, tour the Heard Museum for Native American art and culture, shoot ’em up at Rawhide Wild West Town, or tour the Phoenix Art Museum for the Southwest’s largest museum of contemporary art.
