For the fifth year in a row, we will have the honor of hosting Dr. Z. Randall Stroope, one of the country’s leading composers of choral music, for an exclusive choral event in Chicago – the Windy City Choral Festival. March 16-18, 2017, choirs from across North America will join together in the “Windy City” and form a large festival chorus to sing under Dr. Stroope’s baton. Each year, Dr. Stroope leads three days of intense yet highly-educational choral rehearsals to prepare for a musically-thrilling on-stage performance at historic Orchestra Hall at Symphony Center – home of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and one of the most stunning concert halls in the world – featuring music composed by the maestro himself.

In addition to being part of the Windy City Festival Chorus, four choirs will be selected by audition to conduct a stand-alone performance on stage during the finale concert.

Dr. Z. Randall Stroope was terrific and it was an honor to have him work with our students. What a brilliant composer!  My students are so thrilled. I also appreciate the opportunity for The Elmhurst College Concert Choir to be featured.
