“Music Celebrations International provided our university wind ensemble with a once-in-a-lifetime experience via the tour our band took to Washington D.C. and our performance at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. This was the band’s first trip after the COVID-19 pandemic and the first trip in the wake of the university’s cancellation of the music program at Fairmont State. We were blessed to receive institutional support from the university for this trip, which went a long way to shifting the tides on campus back toward a more supportive atmosphere for the arts, and I am very sure that the prestigious nature of the performance venue was a substantial part of the reason that the university was willing to support our tour. Furthermore, our campus being a smaller one of largely local students, this trip provided many of our band students with their first trip to Washington and most, if not all, of our band members with their first experience performing in a truly beautiful and professional concert hall. This was a fabulous experience and I am so glad our students were able to participate!”
