Our trip was fantastic! This was the third time that I have had the privilege of taking our band to the National Memorial Day Parade in Washington, D.C. The highlight for me is seeing the look on my students’ faces when we turn the corner from 7th Street onto Constitution Avenue. That was priceless. If I don’t retire anytime soon, I’ll go back and do it all over again. The history that I got to show my students changed their entire perspective on our country’s history. Hands-on instead of in a book. Priceless.
