The Stillwater Wind Symphony recently performed along with other ensembles in The John Philip Sousa Band Festival in Washington, DC. The festival takes place every year and culminates with a performance at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. The program featured pieces by John Phillip Sousa, Percy Grainger, Joseph Wilcox Jenkins, and Arturo Marquez.
We could not have been more pleased. The performance at the Sousa Festival was a highlight for my students. Our experience at the Kennedy Center was professional, from interaction with the staff to the accommodations for our students. The performance was fantastic. It was a pleasure to play for such a large and enthusiastic crowd on one of the nation’s premier stages. Truly a life experience for everyone.
