Schola Cantorum returns from the Baltics

“We absolutely loved our shared concert with the Lithuanian Chorus Momentum in the Church of St. Catherine in Lithuania!”

What Our Travelers Said

In 2017, Don Kendrick and I had taken our Sacramento Choral Society to the Baltics and partnered with some amazing local professional orchestras and soloists in Latvia, Estonia and Finland in works by Rossini and Mendelssohn.

Eight years later we decided to take our highly acclaimed Church Choir – Schola Cantorum of Sacramento Church in Sacramento back to the Baltics with an accappela program. 32 singers joined us along with 15 guests. We knew we were heading into the heart of great choral music in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.

AND we were definitely not disappointed. The performance venues were simply world class in Tallinn, Riga, Kaunas and Lithuania. The warm hospitality of our hosts and the wonderful energy of each large audience warmed our hearts. The resilient, optimistic  spirit of he Baltic people was so inspiring and uplifting. We can readily see why music has played such a huge role in their history and will continue to do so in the future.

We absolutely loved our shared concert with the Lithuanian Chorus Momentum in the Church of St. Catherine in Lithuania along with the farewell banquet together at the Restaurant Grey. It was so powerful to make music together and then perform for one another!
