Eastchester High's Unforgettable Memorial Day Parade

From the first email I received from MCI inviting the Eastchester High School Marching Band to participate in the National Memorial Day Parade, to the conclusion of the trip, MCI was incredibly helpful every step of the way. The kids had an amazing experience marching in the parade. Seeing the throngs of people cheering us on as we turned onto Constitution Avenue was a particularly impressionable moment. The other highlight of the trip was attending the National Memorial Day Concert on the lawn of the Capitol building. The combination of VIPs in attendance, the very poignant personal stories, and the amazing music by the National Symphony Orchestra was incredibly moving. I would absolutely do this trip again

It was so cool, one of the military bands was right behind us playing the same song that we were, and we got to see bands with full color guards and whole cheerleading teams, which is something we don’t see a lot.”
The entire event gave me a newfound respect for other groups and also encouraged us to reflect on the history of the country and the countless service members who gave their lives to defend our freedoms.
In addition to marching and being on national television, this was an amazing opportunity. We got to learn more about the history of our country and the importance of remembering those who served in various conflicts, globally
