Julia Wondra
Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, and Slovakia
Julia Wondra assumes the role of MCI’s new Concert Manager for Central and Eastern Europe, effective March 1, 2024, succeeding her husband, Helmut Wondra, who held the position for over twenty-five years. Julia brings extensive experience to the role, having served as a Tour Manager for more than 100 tours and as MCI’s Supervisor/Coach for Tour Managers in this region for over two decades.
Julia’s roots trace back to Upper Austria, where she spent her childhood in the countryside, an hour’s drive from Salzburg. It was here that her passion for music blossomed as she learned classical guitar and participated in various choirs.
At the age of 15, Julia relocated to Vienna, instantly captivated by the city’s rich musical heritage, with Schubert holding a special place in her heart. Initially trained as a registered nurse, Julia dedicated ten years to the profession before the allure of combining her twin passions for music and travel led her to transition into the role of Tour Manager.
Throughout her tenure, Julia has collaborated with choirs, orchestras, bands, and dance troupes of diverse sizes and backgrounds, spanning from high school to professional levels. Her intimate knowledge of venues, including layouts, facilities, stage management intricacies, and potential challenges, is extensive. Julia has played integral roles in organizing numerous music festivals across Europe, including the Salzburg Choral Festival, Beethoven Orchestra at Vienna’s Musikverein, Beethoven Choral at St. Stephen’s, and Reformation Choral at the Dom in Berlin, among others.
Julia’s love for music is palpable, and she thrives on fostering unforgettable experiences for touring singers and musicians while relishing the opportunity to work closely with people. Outside of her professional endeavors, Julia is happily married and is a proud mother to two teenage sons. Her personal interests include swimming, walking, indulging in various forms of art, and, naturally, immersing herself in music.
