Our recent choir trip to France was a truly unforgettable experience. Every day of this trip was a highlight.

Rouen, with its rich history, stunning architecture, and the iconic Joan of Arc Cathedral, provided a captivating start to our journey. While Mont Saint-Michel lived up to all expectations. Despite the challenging climb, the breathtaking beauty of the island was well worth the effort. The experience was profoundly moving, both musically and spiritually, for everyone in our group.

The Normandy Beaches were a solemn and inspiring site. Singing the “Star-Spangled Banner” alongside other choirs was a particularly poignant moment. and for a finale working with Craig Jessop was a professional highlight, and performing the music of Fauré and Duruflé at the Madeleine was a musical dream come true.

As hoped, the musical experiences were the centerpiece of our trip, creating lasting memories that will forever be cherished.

Every performance had a significance to it.  For me personally, I found the opportunity to sing at the Mass at Mont St. Michel to be incredibly inspiring.  Including the physical push to climb to the top, the whole experience was very meaningful and inspiring.

I would say the final concert at the Madeleine was also a personal favorite.  It was almost too overwhelming to get to perform this music, in this space with Craig Jessop.  Having taught music history, I was aware of the history of the Madeleine, and I found it profound to sing this music in the center of Paris.  The preparation both here in the US and in Paris were wonderful rehearsals to build towards a rewarding performance.
