Clemson University Singers performing in Italy

Clemson University Singers performing in Santa Maria de Ricci

All of the concerts were personal highlights for me. Also, taking a group to the top of the St. Peter’s Dome was magical. I truly think singing concerts and impromptu performances were highlights for the students. Each of them said different things at different times. The concert at Santa Maria sopra Minerva was wonderful. Such an historic venue and the acoustics were unbelievable. Crowd was full and appreciative. Was wonderful to see my students’ faces as we sang. Participation in Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica was once in a lifetime. We were a bit rushed due to a miscommunication as to where we were supposed to be, causing us to have to be singing and walking at the same time. Other than that it was terrific. The priest spoke in English directly to the choir during the homily. Unbelievable. The concert at Santa Maria de Ricci was excellent. Smaller than I imagined, but the intimacy of the venue made for a memorable experience. The audience was full (standing room only) and enthusiastic. The students commented on this being a magical concert. The concert at Santa Maria dei Miracoli was really good. Acoustics were terrific and the space was a joy to perform in. Audience was again full and appreciative. Maybe the best concert we sang (either here [Venice] or in Rome). Bepe (Guiseppe) [motorcoach driver] was fantastic. Very good, very friendly, and helpful. Would love to use him again. Laura Turek [tour manager] was terrific. Very organized and knowledgeable. Highly efficient and friendly. Top-notch. Would like to use her again in the future. Thanks for a great trip!
