jefferson-memorial-cherry-blossomMusic Celebrations International is proud to be a longtime facilitator of travel services for marching bands performing in the National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade, part of an annual springtime festival held in Washington, D.C. The parade is the culmination of the two-week long National Cherry Blossom Festival, held each year to  commemorate the March 27, 1912 gift of Japanese cherry trees from Mayor Yukio Ozaki of Tokyo City to the United States Capital. Mr. Ozaki presented the trees in an effort to enhance the friendship between the United States and Japan, and also celebrate the cultures and continued close relationship between the two nations.  Applications for parade performers will soon be accepted, and will be reviewed beginning May 20, 2015.  They will be evaluated on a rolling basis, so bands should submit their applications as early as possible. Applications will be evaluated until September 10, 2015. We hope that interested ensembles will contact us using the form below, and also read more about performing arts opportunities on the Cherry Blossom Festival website.
