Dr. William Carroll, Festival Director
William P. Carroll, Director of Choral Activities and Chair of the Vocal Studies Division at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, holds degrees from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, Southern Methodist University, and Millsaps College.
A native Mississippian, he has served as guest conductor, clinician, and adjudicator for numerous workshops, honor choirs, and clinics, including the North Carolina High School Honors Chorus and All-State Chorus, North Carolina Junior High All-State Chorus, North Carolina Elementary Honors Chorus, Virginia Music Camp, Lake Junaluska Music Week, and has given presentations for the Hawaii International Conference on the Arts and Humanities, Eastern Division ACDA Convention, Fellowship of United Methodist Musicians, Intercollegiate Men's Chorus Association, and the American Guild of Organists, among others.
In 1999 he completed a fifteen-year tenure as Conductor of the Choral Society of Greensboro. A Past President of North Carolina ACDA, in 2001 he was presented the Lara Hoggard Award for distinguished service to choral music in the state. In addition to his University responsibilities Carroll serves as Editor for Hinshaw Music, Inc.
