The Sounds of the Southwest Singers participated in the National Memorial Day Choral Festival under the direction of Dr. Craig Jessop. This musical tribute in Washington, D.C.’s John F. Kennedy Center has become a tradition which salutes America’s military and fallen heroes each year. Director Matt Deller reports:

“An overall great experience. The Performance in the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts was one of the best venues we’ve sung. Lots of room on the risers to sit and stand, and be comfortable. You didn’t “sandwich” us in…we had plenty of room for our music and to be comfortable. The experience at the Kennedy Center, the direction of the three wonderful conductors, the orchestra, was wonderful. I, of course, loved working with my mentor Craig Jessop. He has helped me so much in my orchestra conducting. I loved being under his direction and took many notes for my future choir direction, especially the warmups!

Performing for the Opening Ceremony for the National Memorial Day Parade was great. Going on lights/camera/action was an incredible feeling for our singers. We had a lot of our folks in the front row so they were quite visible on the recording! Thank goodness they had the music memorized! HA! We loved the parade and would do it again in a flash.

I highly recommend Music Celebrations International for tours anywhere they take you! Professional, courteous, friendly, and they LOVE music! That’s a plus, and the Wiscombes run a great organization! Sign up your choir now for a concert tour or music festival!”
