Today we’re pleased to announce the third-annual John Philip Sousa Band Festival, an exclusive music event that will take place on Sunday, March 12, 2017 at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts Concert Hall in Washington, D.C.  Four select concert bands will be featured in this historic concert venue.

The program will emphasize the life and influence of John Philip Sousa, “The March King,” on the American Band movement. Participating bands will have the opportunity to visit important Sousa sites in Washington, D.C., including his tombstone at Historic Congressional Cemetery, where he was laid to rest, and participate in a wreath-laying ceremony at the site.

Each band will also enjoy a personal clinic the day before the concert with Col. Arnald D. Gabriel, former Commander/Conductor of the United States Air Force Band and decorated veteran of World War II.

Visit the festival website to learn more about the event, including cost, application, and performance information.
